My therapy with children and young people takes a systemic approach, recognising the significant impact of family interaction patterns on psychological difficulties. I am trained and skilled in assisting families with complex and systemic issues. Understanding that a child's or adolescent's challenges are often rooted in their broader family context, I follow a holistic approach and work with the entire family to ensure the most effective treatment.
By involving parents and guardians in the therapeutic process, I aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these difficulties have developed and how best to address them. This approach respects the crucial role parents/guardians play and enhances the benefits of individual therapy for young people. My goal is to foster positive changes within the family system, supporting both the child and their parents in their journey towards better mental health.
I have experience and training in various therapies and treatment modalities, such as
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Child-focused parent interventions.
Play-based therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Attachment-based and Schema-informed therapies
Mindfulness based therapy
